An archipelago off the coast
The Brijuni archipelago lies just off the coast near Pula and Fažana. It has 14 islands and islets: Veliki Brijun, Mali Brijun, Vanga, Sveti Jerolim (St. Jerolim), Sveti Marko, Kozada, Pusti Otok, Gaz, Galija, Obljak, Grunj, Supin, Supinić and Vrsar.
The sea between them is calm and clear, and the shoreline changes from green woods to rocky points and hidden bays. That variety is why a slow cruise works so well here.

A short history
People have lived on Brijuni for thousands of years, and Roman remains can still be seen on the shore. In the twentieth century the islands became the summer residence of Josip Broz Tito, president of Yugoslavia, who welcomed world leaders and film stars here. Today they are a national park open to visitors.

Climate and swimming
The islands have a mild Mediterranean climate. In summer the sea temperature is usually between 22 and 25 °C, warm enough for a long swim at St. Jerolim.
